Michael E Nagel, DBA, CMA

Mike Nagel is the founder of VERITAS Strategic Management Services, a pioneering research and advisory firm that works with senior teams, boards and organizational leaders. Mike initially founded VERITAS to support his doctoral research.  Over the past 15 years the practice and methods of VERITAS have evolved. He serves as the lead consultant on most VERITAS engagements. 

Mike credits his curiosity around human behavior and organizational success to his early career in the US Army and his undergraduate experiences in social work. These experiences surfaced questions about how leaders can achieve continued positive catalytic progress on important goals and how people and groups behave (and are capable of behaving) relative the context they find themselves in.

Since transitioning to a professional services career, he’s engaged leaders and their organizations in hundreds of firms internationally helping them develop and execute dynamic business strategies. His clients come from a full range of organizations - from global Fortune 500 firms to large public, nonprofit, new venture, and social sector organizations.

Focusing on behaviors and structures, he helps leaders improve performance by addressing challenges such as growth strategy and its activation, organization development, culture change, team and individual leader development, leadership strategy, change campaigns and corporate governance. He also teaches in higher education, speaks at conferences and conducts research in the areas of strategy, organizational development and corporate performance management.
